Background and Education
I am qualified up to Level 4 in Therapeutic Counselling
I started my academic journey studying medicine at King's College London, and although I found the course fascinating, I found the atmosphere competitive, challenging and overall unpleasant. After struggling with my own mental health for over two years, I finally walked away to pursue a career in music, my life-long passion. I studied undergraduate classical music and post-graduate Ethnomusicology music at Goldsmiths and SOAS respectively. After teaching piano and music theory to children and adults for nearly 10 years, I felt a pull to support people in their mental health, so after talking to many professionals, I began training as a counsellor. I love my work, and am passionate about a holistic, creative practice tailored to my clients. I recognised the important of a balance between work and leisure, mindfullness and a healthy lifestyle. For this reason, I take time off every 6 weeks to recharge, during school holidays. I aim to continue my training at Level 7 in the next few years, and in the meantime continue to attend CPD sessions (a minimum of 30 hours per year) and do regular reading to stay updated.

Why counselling?
Other than the challenging time I experienced at university, I have also been through other difficult life experiences including depression, anxiety, grief and bereavement and family members with chronic health conditions. I understand in some ways that life can be extremely unrelenting and challenging, and it's because of these experiences, and experiences of my loved ones, in addition to my training and my passion for helping to support people that has led me down the counselling path.
Client groups
I have experience working with clients with depression, anxiety, social anxiety, loss and bereavement, single parenting, relationship difficultues, suicide ideation, eating disorders and personality disorders. With close experience of friends in the LGTBQIA+ community and from neurodivergent backgrounds and family with disabilities, I am passionate about working with, and welcome, all client groups 18+.
